Hi, I’m McCaleb Eifert, LCSW.

(she/her/hers)

McCaleb graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Master of Social Work. Her main areas of focus lie in eating disorders, anxiety disorders, relationships, as well as sex and intimacy work. While McCaleb can help target each one of these concerns independently, she finds the natural overlap between them all fascinating in how it reveals our relationship to self and others. She believes in a strengths-based, humanistic approach to therapy, and brings warmth and compassion to all interactions in her work.

What made you decide to go into this specialty?

The intertwined biological and psychological components of eating disorders are complex and often buried. It is humbling yet also fascinating in working with this population, as it stretches my ability to understand, empathize, and problem solve in ways that are not textbook defined. For many years, I have continued to feel called to support clients in reclaiming their freedom with food and safety in one’s body, as these are critical components to basic functioning. It is a deep honor to be able to help deconstruct unhelpful narratives and relearn the innate skills around food and the innate connection with our body.

In my work, I also witness the interactions between eating disorders, negative self-esteem, relationships, and intimacy. Parsing through one often reveals aspects of another. How we show up in relationships, how we interact with our body, and how we engage in intimacy are important corners to look at when trying to better understand ourselves. From my years of practice, I have found exploring the interconnectedness of our body and the world around us to be powerful and transformative work.
