What made you decide to go into this specialty?

Having a personal history with the disease and overcoming it with the help of professionals led me to be passionate about helping others do the same. We live in a society that constantly tells women to shrink. I want women to feel empowered to take up space, in both mind and body. While working as the intake and admission coordinator at Edelweiss, my passion has grown to helping families and individuals navigate the healthcare system while seeking treatment for eating disorders. Seeing a loved one struggle with an eating disorder or dealing with it yourself is stressful can be debilitating. Trying to find help can often be confusing and stressful. I want to ease that burden for families and individuals.
